Soul Seed Academy is a proud trustee for Kiva.org.  Kiva is an incredible organization that offers interest-free micro business loans for entrepreneurs all over the world!  It's like Kickstarter but with no fees.  If they don't receive all the funding they need, their loan doesn't go through.  Take a look at who we're supporting this month and see if you want to give too!

Loans that change lives

This month, we're supporting:

Lorenis (Puerto Rico)

Lorenis, proud dog mom of Renzo and owner of The Doggo design co. and, an architectural designer that loves dogs too much (if that’s possible). After finding herself unemployed due to the global pandemic, she decided it was time for her to create something new by combining her two passions: dogs & design. The doggo is an online dog accessories boutique that also creates custom artwork of your pets & seeks to support local shelters with every purchase. Puerto Rico (where it's based) has a huge problem with dogs and cats overpopulation which affects local shelters' capacity & resources. As part of their mission, they want to be able to donate enough with every purchase in order to help provide better facilities for shelter dogs. The loan will help them grow by allowing:

- Provide local employment to artists & sew-artists

- Create better marketing campaigns = higher reach & sales

- Allow them to allocate a budget for donations and resources for local shelter improvements

Arlene (Philippines)

Arlene is 53 years old, married and has nine children, three of whom are in school.  Arlene is in the agricultural business of farming rice in the Philippines.

She requested a 600$ loan through NWTF to buy fertilizer and other farm supplies to maintain her farm land. She has been in this business for 5 years now.

In the future, Arlene would like to save enough to provide a secure future for her family.

Last month, we supported Leydi from Ecuador and Mary from Kenya!

Leydi (Ecuador)

Leydi is a hard-working and enterprising woman who always pushes herself to get her three children ahead in life. Doing it alone has been a real challenge, but her strength and love for her children are greater than any adversity. Leydi used to work in anything and everything until she was able to start her own business with the little savings she had. Thus she established her own stall for
selling food!

Mary (Kenya)

Mary is a lady who is determined to achieve. Mary has never neglected her  four children. She has been actively involved in farming for the past 12 years and has never regretted it or looked back. She practices mixed farming and sells milk, eggs, and various food crops at the local market.  In farming, Mary loves dairy farming the most, while her greatest challenge is lack of enough feed for her livestock.
